School Statement
St John's is an Early Learning Centre to Year 6 systemic Lutheran School situated in Adelaide's eastern suburbs, 5kms from the CBD.
St John's is fully double-streamed with an enrolment of 415 students (including ELC). The school has an Early Learning Centre for three and a half - to five year old children. St John's operates in partnership with Concordia College, a Year 7 to 12 school, under a single governing body. St John's is an IB (Primary Years Programme) school, with Concordia College offering the Middle and Senior Years Programmes, and now the Diploma Programmes. (See link to Concordia College below)
The school is regarded highly, especially for the quality of teaching and the high level of care it provides for every student. Students at St John's are enthusiastic and cooperative with minimal behavioural issues. Parents make numerous positive contributions to school life which enhance learning and sporting opportunities for students. Positions on staff are highly sought after as teachers see the school as progressive and nurturing.
The school is recognised for excellence in relation to our ICT directions. One to one computing has been introduced to Year 6 students from 2010, as the school is dedicated to embedding ICT in our pedagogy. Specialist teaching areas are Art, Science, Music, German, Physical Education, and Design and Technology.
