The Mission Statement of St John’s Lutheran Primary commits the school to...

  • Providing a vibrant and challenging education for all students.
  • Providing a caring supportive environment within which our students develop.
  • Providing opportunities for students to encounter God and to foster in them a living relationship with Jesus Christ.

The 2011-2013 Strategic Plan of St John’s provides a ‘road map’ for the school as we continue to implement the mission of the school. Because the Mission Statement is intentionally focussed on students, the Strategic Intents of the college as outlined in this plan are also student focussed.

The plan encompasses four key Strategic Intents designed to strengthen student learning and development each of which have specific goals that the college will strive to achieve by the end of 2013.

However, we recognise that other areas in the school need to be developed in order to support the accomplishment of these student-focussed Strategic Intents. Consequently, when designing the plan, consideration was given to the importance of...

  • The attributes of personnel working at the school.
  • The school cultural conditions necessary to support staff members, students and programs.
  • The essential basic supports necessary to administer and develop a successful, innovative school.

When studying the 2011-2013 Strategic Plan for St John’s, I encourage you to refer to the Framework. The Framework is deliberately designed as a series of layers where each layer supports the items higher in the structure. Underpinning everything is the Mission, Vision and Values of the college while at the pinnacle of the structure are the key outcomes intended for students.

This plan had been developed after many months of consultation with members of the St John’s community. Because of the close relationship that exists between Concordia College and St John’s Lutheran School, the framework for the Strategic Plans for both schools is identical. The tactics used in the two schools will vary but the overall intended outcomes are common between the two schools.

I commend this plan to you and ask for your prayerful support as St John’s strives to fulfil its mission.
