Music - Private Tuition
INSTRUMENTAL STUDIES
Instrumental tuition is available to all students on an individual lesson basis. Lessons are given by qualified teachers who are appointed in the capacity of peripatetic Instrumental Teachers. Concordia College arranges for these teachers to attend weekly and provides them with the necessary facilities.
INSTRUMENTS
Tuition is available in the following instruments:
piano, pipe organ, flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, euphonium, tuba, trombone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, classical/folk guitar, bass guitar, electric guitar, drumkit, tuned percussion, recorder and voice.
Tuition on other instruments will be arranged if there is sufficient demand.
TUITION FEES
Fees for instrumental tuition are based on the rates established by the Music Teachers Association and are paid directly to the instrumental teachers by the parents. Accounts are sent by the teachers early in each semester and prompt payment is expected.
The fee for individual tuition will be $28 per half hour lesson. As a general rule a minimum of 16 lessons are given in each semester.
HIRE INSTRUMENTS
Concordia College owns a number of instruments which are available for hire by students at nominal rates. Long term hire is not encouraged as students who are making a definite commitment to music should have their own instruments within two years.
Instruments - flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone (soprano, alto, tenor), trumpet, french horn, trombone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar.
Hire of other instruments will be arranged if there is sufficient demand.
Hire instruments are allocated in order of application.
HIRE FEES
The standard hire fee will be $340 per year, except classical guitar $120. This will be charged to your school fee account in Term 1.
