Early Learning Centre to Year Two

At St John’s Lutheran School we were excited to open our Early Learning Centre in 2007. This means that the education of your child can start in our school from the age of three and a half years.

The early years are foundational in a child’s education. Early childhood education is critical as children gain the essential skills, knowledge and dispositions for confidence and success in school and life.

St John’s Early Learning Centre is the first step into education for our three and a half year old children. We offer day sessions as well as extended care in our Out of School Hours Care facility. The children will also have the opportunity to work with specialist teachers within our school.

Through a wide range of learning experiences we will build children's skills, knowledge and attitudes as we support the development of their confidence, curiosity and independence in the ELC and the Junior Primary years. This enables the children to further develop their understanding of the amazing world that God has given us.
Programmes will be based on the development of the whole child - aiming to meet the range of individual needs by assisting each child to develop social skills, spiritual, physical and academic growth.

All children in the early years at St John’s will benefit from our implementation of the Primary Years Programme. We will be developing inquiry units with the children using the International Baccalaureate Organisation’s framework.

Our staff are excellent communicators to ensure that there is always a partnership between staff and parents.
