Year 3
Year 3 Camp at Narnu Farm
I liked all the things we did. I liked basketball, milking, feeding, hand plowing, playing in the fort, going on the back of the truck and riding the horses. The horse I rode was called Patches. There is one more thing I liked – making the butter. There is a way to make it at home. Get a container with a lid and get four or five marbles, add normal cream and shake it for about 20 minutes and then it’s done.
Lucy
I learnt that there is a lot of equipment needed to make butter, that technology has changed for ploughing and that children had to walk behind their parents and drop the seed in the ground.
Hannah
I liked mostly everything but the best was the truck ride because we got to feed the horses carrots. We went up the hill and over some paddocks to get there.
Jessica
I learnt that riding a horse is NOT as easy as it looks! I learnt how butter is made and how hand ploughing is done. What a great place Narnu farm is!
Alexander
I liked playing Friend Or Foe on the fort and playing table tennis with my mates. I really enjoyed milking the cows (though the udders were slimy) and the horse riding (I would like to go horse riding again at some stage).
