Primary Years
St John’s offers a broad and balanced curriculum, which aims to enhance the whole person, for students from Reception through to year 6.
We offer a range of specialist areas including: Information Technology, Physical Education, The Arts, Indonesian and German. Some specialist lessons in the upper primary are held at Concordia College.
St John’s is a candidate school for The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. The aim of the program is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
Students with specific learning needs are supported in their learning through specific Learning Support programs as well as inclusive classroom support by learning support teachers. The school offers

Student assessment is outcome-based and ongoing. Portfolios containing student work are sent home at the end of Terms 2, 3 & 4. A summary statement is provided mid-year and at the end of the year. Benchmark Testing occurs at years 3 and 5. School Entry Assessment testing occurs during the Reception year.
